For eight years the sign said Simply Amazing Boutique.

Somewhere along the way, you all started calling it Sandy’s.

You’d tell a friend, “Oh, I got this at Sandy’s.” You’d walk in and say, “Sandy, I need something for Saturday.” After eight years of hearing it, I figured you’d already named the place. So this fall we made it official and rebranded to Sandy’s at the Landing.

Fashion has been in my heart since the beginning. I went straight into retail out of school, and during my years in Alabama and Texas I did fashion modeling — August Max, August Silk and others. Somewhere in there I also spent time in a sewing factory, putting lace on slips and stitching jeans, which is a hard way to learn fabric and the best way to learn it. I can still tell you what a garment will do after three washes just by holding it.

Then I came home to Titusville, where I grew up, and eventually I opened the doors here.

And the name isn’t the only thing that’s new. We’ve brought in five new clothing lines, a gorgeous perfume line, and two handbag lines — so there’s more to dig through now than there’s ever been. If it’s been a while since you came in, it’s a different store.

Every piece on these racks got picked by hand, by me, because I’d wear it or because I know exactly which one of you is going to love it. Nothing lands here by algorithm. Adore for the nights that matter. Origami when you want lace and a little romance. Young Threads when you want to feel like yourself on a Saturday. And a whole main floor of easy, mid-priced pieces that carry you from errands to dinner without a costume change.

A few things here you won’t find anywhere else in North Brevard. Tagua jewelry, carved by hand in Ecuador from a nut that grows on a rainforest tree. Sandy Snaps, our own interchangeable charm jewelry. Concealed by Janko handbags, which have been on ESPN, FOX, ABC and NBC — beautiful leather first and foremost, and they pack a powerful punch!
